This class is designed to provide students with the basic lessons and skills to manipulate a pistol. Class emphasis is on safety and proper operation of a handgun. This class fulfills the requirements set forth by MD State Police for those who want to obtain the HQL license. Class Topics: Class covers the following lessons:
• Handgun safety
• Legal considerations in MD
• Nomenclature of handguns (Revolvers and semi-autos)
• Handgun operation: mechanics and ballistics
• Loading and unloading
• Basics of Marksmanship
• Storage and safe keeping
• Handgun maintenance
• Live fire portion

All participants must bring a government-issued ID and signed waiver to class. While this course is open to participants of all ages, the State of Maryland will only issue you an HQL if you are 21 or older.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations prior to 72 hours from the course start time will be entitled to a 90% refund or full credit towards a future course.
Cancellations between 72 and 24 hours from the course start time will be entitled to a 50% refund or full credit towards a future course.
Cancellations within 24 hours of the course start time (including no-shows) are not entitled to a refund nor course credit.
